Quorn

Has anyone ever heard of Quorn? I got a coupon booklet from Stop and Shop on their products. It is not meat or soy. Here is a little of what I read on their website about it..

WHAT IS QUORN

Quorn™ is the brand name of a premium line of all-natural, meat-free frozen foods. The Quorn brand has been sold in the UK since 1985, and since that time has become the #1 retail brand of meat-free foods in the world! And since its US launch in 2002, Quorn products have become the best-selling frozen meat-free brand in natural food stores*! Quorn products deliver great taste, fantastic quality and a wide variety of items to meet the demands of on-the-go lifestyles. You can depend on Quorn products to always be meat-free and soy-free. There are believed to be over 600,000 varieties of fungi in the world, some of which are the most sought after foods like varieties of mushrooms, truffles and morels. The principal ingredient in all Quorn products is mycoprotein (“myco” is Greek for “fungi”). The mycoprotein comes from Fusarium venenatum, which was originally discovered growing in a field in Buckinghamshire, England. In the late 1960s, initial product development began, soon recognizing mycoprotein’s potential as an efficient and nutritious protein source. Try Quorn products for yourself – it might just surprise you…

So it looks like it is some sort of Fungi. That is right up your alley Nob.. I was checking out the different frozen foods they sell and the Cranberry & Goat Cheese Chik'n Cutlet caught my eye. It's their newest cutlet topped with creamy goat cheese and whole cranberries, then covered in crunch...

Here is the link to that page..

Shell Balls

When Chicka and I were shopping the other day we came across these cool shell balls that were displaying eye glasses. I thought I would take a picture of them with my phone camera so Della and Dawn could make some with their collection of shells..

Dawns Daily Desserts

Howdee all,

Lately I have been having two sweets daily..
I love these two deserts.
The first one is the Nature Valley Peanut Butter Granola Bars. I have half of a package...One bar...with lunch. It is crunchy and peanutty and only 90 calories and satisfys my sweet tooth.

The second dessert is the wonderful dark chocolate cozy shack pudding.
Only 100 calories and yummy to my tummy.

Even though I am dieting..I still like to have a few sweets...
